NYC. Dreams do come true.

I have a secret for you... DREAMS DO COME TRUE.

I have just returned from U.S.A. From New York.
I could never ever imagined that one day I will be able to fly over the ocean. I mean - that it willbe possible and I will have enough money to do it. Unbelievable.

If only words could explain how I feel. If only it would be possible to describe and concretize my thoughts, emotions and feelings.
I'll try my best...

How I got there?
Well, one day in the beautiful summer I woke up and bought tickets to and from NYC. Simple as that. Nothing more, nothing less.
Spontaneously. Without any plans. Not having any friends there.

Time flew fast and next thing I knew it was already November.
Coincidence happened and I got the chance to meet beautiful people, who later on helped me and fullfilled my dream. I believe that everything happens for a reason and that I've met each one of them for a reason. Later on I know why.

So here I was. In the JFK. All excited, after 2 hours flying to Oslo, 2 hours waiting and 8 hours flying to JFK. With one small purse, where were couple of T-shirts, documennts, money, diary, gopro. That's it. Full with plans and hopes that I will manage it all. At least - more than less.

In JFK I've got picked up by a lovely stranger on a white horse (my favourite, dream car, I mean - just like from my dreams, de ja vu did happened). Got escorted through the beautiful sights of NYC. That lovely stranger took me to my place, where I stayed for 6 nights, one block away from the Empire State Building. I've lived on 4th Park Avenue. And I lived there for free. How epic is that?

My first time in U.S.A., in New York, my first coach surfing experience, saving money for my next travels in February. All together - EPIC!

I was too excited to sleep my first night in New York. I slept like for 2 hours and then I went out to fulfill my biggest dream - helicopter ride. It was UNBELIEVABLE! Seriously! You can only imagine. Then -I was driving all around the city on hop on, hop off bus. Listening to the most interesting information, jokes and meeting people everywhere I've stoped. FYI - you know, why so many Italian man are called Tony? Because, when they were imigrating to New York from Italy, in their passports were written "TO NY" a.k.a. "TONY". So... sweet and true fact. I mean - obviously they weren't Tony's, but... everyone called them like that. Teehee

In the evening I went to the Knick's game against Nets. It was FABULOUS! Those emotions, adrenaline, goosebumps! Un-imaginable! Another dream came true. I've attended NBA game. How cool is that? I mean - how is it even possible? Me, little Latvian girl in states, in NBA game? What?
Awesome!

Then - I went near the High Line to a hotel/club/bar, where you can see New Jersey so close. Such an awesome view! Next thing I know - I am in the Korean underground club, singing karaoke - "Numb" by Linkin Park. Yes. Numb. I know. Hilarious!

Returning home I've got interviewed my Latvian sport's reporter. It was fun and exciting as well. I went to bed on 4 o'clock, but on 4.40am I needed to get up for my Washington, D.C. tour.
But... I've missed it. Obviously. Didn't hear the alarm at all. Something like that have happened just once in my life. When I've missed my flight to Barcelona from Lisbon. And I was so stressed, so frustrated, so pissed off, so... ahh, million feelings rushing through my head and heart.
Anyways, I've missed my tour to D.C., but I had a chance to reschedule ir for another day - lucky girl. Washington D.C. was cool, yet too serious, too diplomatic. I'm glad I've seen it. I mean - you need to see it at least once. And I guess - it's enough. Teehee.

On that day I went to the Central Park. To the spectacular ice skating rink. I went to Harlem. I went everywherein the Upper New York. It was totally different than the Lower side.

Sunday was a Brooklyn day. Me and my friend Marta went on Manhattan bridge, because... well, we thought that it's Brooklyn bridge, teehee. But, whatever - it was totally worth it. We did walked on Brooklyn bridge on our way back to NYC. And it was epic! That feeling when you are walking towards all those skyscrapers - PRICELESS!
We went to Bushwick. Because I wanted to see "that specific graffitti". And we did. But first - we got lost in a Mexican ghetto. It was funny, cool yet dodgy. We finished our day in the Equinox. And fresh squeezed most awesome juice ever. I must say - the most amazing smoothie, juice I have ever tried. Pure heaven!

In the end of my trip, as I've saved loads of money, because I didn't need to pay for my apartment. And I didn't eat so much or spent so much as I planned, I did shopping instead. I didn't mean to. But I did. My bad, haha. I'm not spending my money on the clothes, only on emotions and adventures, but this time - it just hit me. I've spent 1500$ on clothes, gifts and skyt. I mean - for that money I could easily survibe for like 3 weeks in Asia, or even 1 month. But whatever. It was totally worth it. And I don't regret nothing. I mean - now again I won't be buying any clothes for years. Teehee

Went to JFK by taxi. Cool driver, sweet guy. Laughed and talked shyt.
Went back to Oslo with overweight checked in luggage and with a tiny depression. I knew it was coming. I have these little "downs" all the time coming back to my "homeland".
This time I had it BIG TIME. I mean - jetlag, tiredness, back to life, back to reality kind of shyt.
So... I was pretty misserable for 4 days straight. But then... I went to Cyprus. And I've got better. IOn fact - I was in love with myself and my life once again.
The "old" Elina was back. What I was so damn happy about.
I eat good, I gym good, I feel good.
I work even harder. And I look forward my trip to Asia.
I can't believe that it is happening.
February, March, April - you're going to be EPIC!

Cyprus.
